School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES)

Tailored support for young people with disabilities, who are finishing school.

What is School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES)?

We understand that transitioning to life after school can feel overwhelming. National Joblink’s SLES Program, funded by the NDIS, offers tailored support for young people with disabilities, ages 16-22, who are finishing schoo0l.

Our dedicated team works closely with each participant to create a personalised plan that addresses their unique needs and goals, helping them reach their full potential.

Through a holistic, explorative approach, we prioritize both social and emotional well-being alongside practical skills development. This empowers each young person to build self-confidence, fostering a sense of independence and curiosity to pursue further education, volunteering, or meaningful work.

SLES support is typically provided over two years, giving participants the time and resources needed to prepare for the next steps in their journey.

What’s the difference between SLES and DES?

There are some similarities between SLES and DES (Disability Employment Services), as both are focused on created pathways to employment.

A key goal of SLES is to build the capacity of participant so they’re ready to transition to DES.

DES can be thought of as the next step on that journey, for those who are ready to enter the workforce, but still need some support finding and keeping a job.
