Brock found his career pathway with support from Transition to Work
Brock commenced into Transition to Work (TtW) 6 months ago and was shy, reserved and had a limited employment history. Brock had experienced some housing instability and was living out of town with family and transport was also a barrier for Brock. TtW supported Brock to obtain a bus card to enable him to attend his appointments.
Brock and his Mentor Mick share a love of all things AFL and gaming on the PS5, this common passion saw them develop a strong rapport in no time! Brock undertook driving lessons with the NJL driving school and with support from TtW has now gained his P’s.
Brock was unsure of his career pathway and when The Brumby Hill Corporation Security Course in conjunction with Wilson Security became available Mick supported Brock to express his interest in the course.
Brock was committed, reliable and successfully completed the course gaining his Cert 2 in Security. TtW Mentors attended the course graduation and when Brock was presented with his certificate, they announced he was the youngest person to ever complete the course.
TtW Mick supported Brock to obtain his WWVP, police check, fingerprints and security license application to enable him to commence work with Wilson Security. TtW have negotiated a wage subsidy with Wilson Security to support Brock to maintain long term sustainable employment.
