Chloe’s Story
Chloe commenced with Transition to Work (TtW) in February 2024, she had casual employment as a cleaner, however her real passion was working with animals. Her TtW Mentor Dani had discussed undertaking the Certificate III in Animal Grooming as an option to build knowledge and skills towards gaining new employment. Chloe was excited to look at study, however she was becoming unhappy in her cleaning role and had the extra pressure of unstable accommodation.
Dani assisted Chloe with providing information on support services and offering a referral to headspace, whilst also supporting Chloe to continue to job search for employment she would enjoy. Dani came across the perfect job opportunity at a local boarding kennel and contacted Chloe immediately to assist tailor her resume, cover letter and submit her application. Within five minutes of Chloe leaving her appointment, she excitedly returned to the office to advise she had just received a phone call from the kennel employer asking her to come in for a work trial.
The following week Chloe called Dani to let her know the work trial was successful stating, “I had no anxieties and actually really enjoyed myself and I feel like I fit in well.” Chloe commenced employment on the 23 of May she is loving her work and will be enrolling in the Certificate III in Animal Grooming in the near future, which will assist her reach her goal of self-employment in the next three years.
