William – Determination and hard work has ended in success!
William commenced with Transition to Work in June 2024, as a direct registration. He was unsure of the type of work he wanted to do and but wanted something “hands on” and outdoors. He started engaging in NJL’s group activities and looking for work with the assistance of his mentor. National Joblink (NJL) worked with William on his developing his communication skills and his professional profile. He attended NJL’s Careers Day where he met with employers in the construction industry, learning about the different roles and developed a keen interest in scaffolding work.
William was very determined and once he knew what he wanted, he applied for positions in scaffolding where he secured an interview. NJL assisted William to prepare for this and a few days later he got the call that he was successful and commenced employment with SBS in November 2024. NJL further assisted William with PPE, uniforms, work boots, tools and Provision licence.
William is so happy in his role he said he “loves his job”. He also gained his P1 licence and came into the office straight after to tell us all about his achievement! He often comes into the office after work to tell us about his day and to thank NJL for the assistance and encouragement provided to him.
Well Done William!
